The Department of Social Welfare and Quality of Life of the La Laguna City Council has incorporated a state-of-the-art robot specializing in physical and cognitive rehabilitation therapies into the Acaymo Day Center.

"In Inrobics Social Robotics “We have developed the first solution based on artificial intelligence and social robotics that accompanies and stimulates people physically and cognitively, both in clinical settings and in their own homes,” says José Carlos Pulido Pascual, CEO and founder of this spin-off. The company originated from research at the Carlos III University of Madrid to use social robotics and artificial intelligence in pediatric rehabilitation. This exploratory project, Pulido notes, yielded “surprisingly good results,” thus opening a validation and knowledge transfer process that led to the founding of InrobicsFrom its inception, the driving force, according to the jury, has been a "pioneering vision in the integration of disruptive information technologies in the field of digital health, in order to improve patient autonomy, the efficiency of healthcare personnel and rehabilitation therapies, making them more efficient, customizable and accessible."

The AEI is funding a project led by INROBICS, a spin-off of the Carlos III University of Madrid, which is developing a rehabilitation platform for children with neurological damage together with the National Hospital of Paraplegics of Toledo and the Niño Jesús University Children's Hospital.

Social robots, capable of interacting and communicating with people, have reached a stage of maturity and are beginning to consolidate their presence in key sectors, including public services.
